If you are not certain what length your chain is, you should count the number of drive links in your old chain (these are the triangle pointy bits that sit in the bar). You should have either 38 or 39 drive links for a 10" chain (check which one you have carefully as they are not interchangeable) and 45 drive links for a 12" chain.
